I'm beginning to wish that I'd gone for the 2014 fix now. Not because it might be cheaper, but because the thought of having to go through another switch involving EDF in 15 months is almost too much to bear...
Though hopefully switching away from them is less tedious than switching to them.

Given that the tariff is due to be pulled tonight I'd be wary about complicating the process.

But then the poster has had ample advice and prior warning.

Why is using a cashback site complicating anything? There's no delay involved, you click straight through to the merchant site and the process is from then on conducted directly. No manual processing is required from the cashback site.

I'm currently with EDF for electicity and have never had a problem with them as I've never needed to contact them ............until now.
Grrrrrrr I've just been to their website to switch gas and it seems you've got plenty of options except the one I want which is stay with EDF for electicity and add gas from another supplier using the FSv2 scheme.
I went through a number of screens looking for the option and before I knew it I had converted electric to FSv2 but still no option to add gas.
Retraced my steps and the option doesn't exist.
They don't answer calls on Sundays so have emailed them before the deadlike explaining the problem, I've got an email receipt to prove it.
I have also used their callback system for them to return a phone call to me tomorrow morning.
Just hope they will sort it manually or all this has been in vain.
After reading EDF customer service reports I'm not so sure

    Cashback
Seems it's not available to existing customers of EDF even if you're adding gas.

I'm only a newbie finding herself around the site.
Only found out about the deadline at 10pm last night when macman mentioned it.
I thought the last day was Monday.

No one actually knows the deadline, but rumour has it that it will be pulled at midnight tonight-see the article on the main board.
EDF FS v2 is available to both new and existing customers, but it's not available 'gas only.'

You are right gas/electric dual fuel is available to existing electric only customers. Bloomin website won't let you do it though.

If you tell it you are a new customer then you start filling in the form.
I select British Gas as my existing electric supplier but as you would expect you can't select EDF as your existing supplier so not unexpectedly you can't use this option.

So you use the existing customer option which should be the proper option.
You are instructed to log on to your online account and select 'change product'
If you do that there's no option to ADD gas. Only to change my existing electric account.
I'm absolutely certain I'm not doing anything wrong.

They do have a message to cover my problem

Lines open Mon-Sat so it looks like I'll be having my first taste of EDF customer services tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Anyway apologies for this moan as it has nothing to do with the original thread title.
    Thanks everyone for your input

It took about 10-15 minutes to be answered but the person at the other end sorted it out.
I asked for a reference number that could identify and prove the conversation took place but that was not possible.
Instead the person gave me her email address so that I could contact her. I sent her an email and she replied confirming what we had agreed so I now have a point of contact.

I realise I have to wait a number of weeks for the gas supply change over but so far I'm happy with EDF customer services.

That's pretty much been my experience too. Once you get through, they sort things out and seem to be quite efficient.
