Travel tips for Formula 1 Hungary

I would like to take my son (14) to Hungary F1 in August. Which is better,
a) complete package (my preferred option)
b) fly hotel and tickets (bought separately)
I have never been to one of these events, therefore any tips, packages or websites would be useful.
Many Thanks

Not sure if they still do their tailored trips for motorsport, but i went with Page and Moy back 1999 to the Spanish GP.
It was as an absolute hoot, too much sun and alcohol

if its your first trip then i'd suggest going on a complete package, specially for hungary, least that wya you have piece of mind knowing flights, hotel etc are all sorted,
page and moy are on of the best used them a few years ago0 -
Also try Airtrack. Used them the first time I went to Le Mans and, although, you pay for their service (as you would with P&M) you can relax in the knowledge they've done the trip a dozen times and have hopefully covered all eventualities.
Any reason you're choosing that particular race though? There are far better places to watch a motor race Spa, for instance

Thanks for all replies,
I am restricted by school summer holidays during which the only races are Hungary F1 and Turkey F1.
I may go for package option, peace of mind and mainly I want it to be special for myself and son.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
Ah, that is a shame. But you'll still have a great time, The race can appear processional on the TV but are seriously impressive 'in the flesh' and I'd love to go have a look round Budapest someday, so you've that to look forward to as well. Have a great time!0

just a thought...Luton to Budapest leaving on the 2nd and coming back on the 7th is £33 and £24 respectively with easyjet if you book now. With the money you'll save you can hire a car(again possibly with easyjet) and stay in a better hotel than you'll be offered by the inclusive deals. You might also consider staying in Gyor for a couple of days instead of all your nights in Budapest. Its an hour away by road and its a cracking little town full of history and with simple access to Vienna and Bratislava for bonus outings.
Another idea would be to drive there...not as crazy as it sounds. If you live in the south of England just get a cheapo crossing then your looking at around 16-18 hours of a drive but if you've not done it before it is quite interesting. Obviously with your son you'd want to stop for the night in southern Germany. The trip could be a good a laugh...just think of all that 'formula one driving' you could do on the autobahn!
Whatever you do good luck and enjoy it.0
