kitchen company gone bust

we have a bespoke kitchen made by a company who have now gone into administration and as far as I can find out have vanished into the ether.
unfortunately the kitchen has now started to show a couple of flaws which lead me to believe it is not the quality we where originally promised (and also may explain why we never got that one final door fitted!).
The kitchen was bought using a credit facility.
2 questions -a) if the kitchen is starting to deteriorate a lot sooner than expected and isnt the quality we where promised (underneath the surface) then what rights do I have?
b) who do I take this up with?

more details required.
The biggest of all, when was it fitted0 -
I am new to this so please bear with me, I have all details so if I miss anything just ask.
kitchen was fitted approx 4 years ago but was sold with a 25 year guarantee. unfortunately the paperwork for the guarantee tells us to phone the company who have now gone down the tubes.
The issues we are having are to do with the trims, work top and doors starting to peel (it looks like the laminate coatings haven't been secured correctly or are a lot cheaper than the quality we where sold).
The kitchen cost £7,500 and as such I would have expected a much more durable product as was described by both their sales staff and their literature.
I should note that we made a huge mistake not reading the small print and are now paying a much higher interest rate than we where quoted but due to the issues I am loathe to change loan provider until we have looked into it all. Not a mistake we will be making again.0 -
unfortunately we didnt pay deposit with credit card.
does the section 75 cover us for the remainder of the agreement?
we had an incident today where one of the electrical fittings almost caught fire and on independent inspection we where advised it was poor quality and it was a surprise it took so long to occur.0 -
If you paid any part of the payment (even with a low as a £1.) with a credit card you are covered under sectin 75.
Good for yu for doing that....................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Have a read of MSE's Section 75 Refunds article.does the section 75 cover us for the remainder of the agreement?
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 covers some other types of credit as well, not just credit cards.
S75 makes the credit provider jointly responsible for performance of the contract.
Not sure how that applies to your twenty five year guarantee though.0 -
I kind of get the impression that the Section 75 route is a long shot.
Surely if the product was mis-sold, I can remember with horror listening to a 2-3 hour pitch on how good the quality of the product is and how long it will last etc..., there is something else I can do?
although I am not sure how to go about any other route as I believe it would have to be against the company who sold the kitchen.
I have contacted the loan provider and they have agreed to hear my case but only in writing. forms received today.....will see how it goes.0
