I have been tempted with a couple of offers on Groupon - Mattress Topper and a Camera. Thought they looked like good offers - but like every other MSE'r - checked out other options.
Camera was cheaper at Argos - and the topper was £5 cheaper in Asda. Do any other think Groupon gives good VFM?

I think groupon is fab - although have only ever looked into it for the days out/meals etc.
I have only ever bought from it once as I can't really afford 'luxury items' at the mo, but for fathers day i bought my dad, and my daughters other grandad, two tickets each to a Comedy Club with dinner & a drink included for £10 a ticket. Value £30. All four who attended loved it and definitely want to go back but now i feel obliged to tell them you can get the tickets really cheap woops!
Been tempted by other things too nights away, meals, laser teeth whitening but i know i can't afford even the mega discounted prices but they are great value. I keep an eye on it for gifts.0 -
It depends on what you buy, there's been some great offers for hair & beauty treatments, meals, car servicing and day out on mine. I haven't bought as I'm far too poor but I know people who have & they've been delighted.
It still always pays to shop around though as you found out. Were both items you found cheaper the same make etc?0 -
Hi..Yes exactly the same. I searched the descriptions and other information available. Please don't get me wrong - I have also had some great things from Groupon - meals / hairdressing etc. Just that the larger items that go on Uk Wide - seem to be not the bargain we hope for.0

If you have a look in the news letter for last week, or maybe the week before I can't quite recall, Martin discussed whether these deals were worth it and a lot of people said they found the same products or offers were often cheaper from the actual supplier in the first place.
I've only bought 2 things from groupon, 1 was refused to be honoured so I got a refund and the other I am trying to get refunded now. I think some of the meal vouchers look like good vfm but never bought one myself.0 -
I bought a meal voucher a few months back and was worried that the restaurant would be totally packed and that I wouldn't get a look-in at the buffet, but it couldn't have gone better. There was enough food and I didn't have to elbow anyone out of the way before I starved, lol! It's not always been plain-sailing though. I bought this deal for hair straighteners and still haven't received them so wod of warning: don't buy anything from O Spa. I think it's a bit of a con!
