Just did a search on here - quite a few threads, but not clever enough to post a link.0

If you make HM bread (and if you don't then don't laugh, if you keep reading this board you are likely to become tempted) then oats are great to add to your flour.0

My kids have always loved this recipe and its much nicer than rice krispies simply mixed with melted chocolate.
Crispy Crackles
50g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
50g drinking chocolate, sifted
50g cornflakes or rice krispies
Melt the butter and golden syrup over a low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the drinking chocolate and cornflakes/krispies and mix until well coated in the chocolate mixture. Spoon into paper cases and leave to cool, when they will set.0 -
I can't remember the exact recipe but you can make cereal bars from this combination for the kids' lunchboxes. I think it's something like:
3 mars bars
150gm rice crispies
150gm porridge oats
75gm butter or baking marge
sultanas/mixed dried fruit
Chop up and melt the butter and mars bars together in a large open saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in the cereals and fruit. While still warm, press into a shallow, greased baking tray and allow to cool. When fully cool, slice up into 'bars'. For a yummier effect you can apply some cooking chocolate as a top coating.0 -
You can use the krispies to coat chicken as a variation on chicken nuggets/goujons. Just roll the chicken in a beaten egg then dip in crushed rice krispies before cooking.
The americans do it with either crisps or a "just add liquid" biscuit mix but would work equally well with cereal.
As for the oats I would go with granola bars, flapjacks or crumble topping.0
