Help to convert AVI to DVD

Hi I have a avi file which I want to convert to dvd format so i can burn to dvd to watch. I have tried using winavi however keep getting an error message halfway through which eventually aborts the process.

Is there any freeware products which can do this job. Ta.

Have you considered using Nero?

If you download the trial version you get to use it for 30 days.

Alternatively, see if anyone you know has a Nero 6 disc. 99% of dvd drives come with a burning program of some description.

I've tried lots of the freeware programs but none match the power of Nero 7 for what I need and therefore, I think it was worth the money.
