    Is it the 'be nice to newbies' icon you are referring to? Should we be nasty instead? ;-)

    MSE is a big moneyspinning operation, so its reputation has to remain shiny, hence this kind of stuff, I imagine.

    We never had all this "be nice" stuff when I was a kid.

    We just chose an avatar, got on with it and if we made stupid posts we took the nasty criticism from regulars with a stiff upper lip!!!

    Which "meet" are you refering to? The Lancs meet? Or the top secret one in the Maldives?

    Well, I have no idea about the Maldives one, it's top secret and I don't have a level 5 security clearance...
