hi - wonder if anyone can advise me, I'm looking to create my own website, just a few pages, nothing too exciting, just basically a few pictures and text, but haven't a clue how to go about it - do I use free space from my ISP, or buy a domain name and try and host it through that company. Should I try and learn a web design package such as dreamweaver? Apologies for what is probably a stupid question, I did a search but couldn't find anything to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

One tool I came across a few days ago is Google Pages. OK, you have to sign-up for a Google account, but this is no hardship, it's free. It is the simplest tool I've seen so far for creating a basic (but flashy) web page. Once you've created a page, it will be instantly available over the Internet.
I'm sure other people will recommend other tools such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc, and these are great, but it may take just a little bit longer to get the hang of.Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0 -

I uthe Microthoft FrontPage for my 'thimple' thite. You may ath well learn a recognised (that's enough of the lisp) package and I have heard good things about DreamWeaver.
I use my free space. It's fine as a starter but you may wish to spend money especially if you wish to create a more advanced website.
In FrontPage, the Help menu is my best friend and Google helps at times.
Best of luck.
