partitioned account?

I'm new to this site and think its great.
I think the piggybanking idea is the best advice I have had for a long time, but I am not keen to set up 8 separate accounts. Does anyone know of an account that allows you to partition within it ie a single account with 8 or so different segments? I had a vague memory of seeing something like it advertised a while ago. Sorry if this covers ground that has been covered before, but I could not find it.
Thanks,

I think it was initially an idea by the Woolwich some years ago but I haven't heard of a new product being advertised recently....something I'd be interested in also.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450

I think INteligent Finance used to ahve a thhing called POets for savings. Not srre how it worked or if still on.0

I had a look at Intelligent Finance and Woolich. As far as I can see the Woolich account is the usual big bank account. Intelligent finance have a money jar system for savings but each jar is a seperate account. Each account can be used for offsetting your mortgage if you choose their mortgage.
Thinking about how the bank would manage such as system I guess each one would have to be a seperate account.
I'm going to have to take the plunge and open loads of accounts.
thanks for the advice,

Halifax Web Saver can be used like this (as far as I know) but I think it is seperate accounts as you say.0

It is possible to have "virtual" accounts with pen&paper if you have the self control and time to do it properly.0

It is separate accounts. But via their online system - once you have the first one - you can set up further named accounts at willIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

I do it with an ICESave account and excel. I transfer an amount of money over each month and x% is for Car Repairs x% is for Christmas x% for Birthdays etc Excel splits the money into the various sections so I know how much I have in each pot. It doesn't take a lot of work to keep on top of it.0
