I'm not sure if this helps users of other distros, but in Arch you can use 32-bit Flash in 64-bit browsers: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Install_32bit_Flash_on_a_64bit_System
That setup works perfectly on my system, at least...0 -

But hey Linux is still good , and since my lappy is a core i5 2410 I can run 32 bit under Virtualbox for iplayer. It also runs passably on a netbook with an atom too.
Hang on... I can use iPlayer on my 64-bit Arch Linux PC without Adobe Air. The website works fine in my browser, and I can use get_iplayer to download programmes.
I've heard of Adobe Air, but never come across a time when I needed to use it (as far as I can remember).0 -
i use the the BBC iplayer website directly to watch and catchup and get_iplayer (if i want to pre-cache a program to watch it on the go on my laptop or Mobile.) ^_~Laters
