New to forums!!! Im with Lloyds and worried about claiming....Help!!!

Hi ive been reading through some of these forums and ive been with lloyds for years. im not really happy.

few years back when everyone was claiming back, friends of mine got back quite alot of money and i got rejected because lloyds were the 1st to win the court case.

ive only just relised that its ok for us to claim back ppi insurance. i saw the ads but just assumed its the classic where companies just want to take money out of you.

i took out a lone 2 years ago now and have been paying £16 each month. thats alot of money to me and things are tight as it is.

could someone help me in how i go about this to claim back my money and do i still have time? again i know lloyds are always tricky and will do as much as they can to not part with any money.

Thanks

Paul

Despite what you read, like any insurance PPI is not reclaimable, insurance is not illegal and its not wrong to have it, its just wasnt sold very well and often unsuitable for a lot of people.

It's refundable with interest if found to be mis-sold. You would need to make a complaint to Lloyds TSB if you feel the PPI was mis-sold to you.

You have said you were paying £16 a month, so its a not a single premium PPI policy, which is why a lot of PPI complaints are upheld.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. i have a set payment each month. the £16 a month is the insurance which i wasnt explained about. just paid each month.

so what should be said in this letter to get this amount refunded?

    Hi PaulR

If you have reasons for being mis sold the PPI, you just complete the reclaiming questionnaire, there is also a reclaim questionnaire on Lloyds website, its the same one as on this site, the address details on where to send your complaint are on the lloyds site too, remember to keep a copy of it for yourself.

They currently have 16 weeks due to the backlog of complaints, the usual was that of 8 weeks, but the FSA have given these and other banks more time.

    Good luck.

Thankyou for your speedy reply and info...i'll get on it now.
  • Hi,

you can either write the letter complaining about the way you were sold the insurance, or my advice would be to print off the FOS forms which you can do on this site and then once filled in with all your details, post this to

    customer care
    Lloyds TSB insurance
    Newport
    south Wales
    NP10 8SB

This is prob the quickest way to get a response from them and saves messing about. Timeline is around 16 weeks for them to resolve your complaint.

    Good luck
    Hope this helps
