Mortgage Advisor !!!! Up Big Time

I'm trying hard not to overreact - really trying.
My mortgage advisor found us a mortgage with Halifax, applied and was accepted last week. Have put in an offer for a house, been accepted and have a move in date of 15th September. Received the paperwork today.
Read it through the advisor has the wrong spelling of my partner's surname. This came up when we went through the quote, it was emailed to me, I emailed back that she had the wrong spelling. (Still have the email).
Told the advisor of the mistake, she called me back to say Halifax said we had to re-apply and asked for further info (P60s, bank statements) due to this error.
I am silently freaking. Due to getting the mortgage approved I got a low interest loan to consolidate so that we had a manageable mortgage payment and one loan payment.
Someone make me feel better ... please .......
Another 14 days to wait? Likely to refuse? Why would they ask for more info on simply one letter wrong in a surname?

Don't panic.
I expect they will need to run the credit checks with the correct name this time.
A change in name after mortgage application may automatically trigger extra security - even if the change is simply a correction.
I can't imagine any basis they would have for refusing to offer as they did before (unless of course the credit check shows up something bad), so don't panic. It should just be an annoying delay. It's probably worth speaking to them directly (hopefully they are open over the weekend) and explaining the situation.
House buying is full of things going pear shaped. We had our fair share but completed now and all is good. It will be for you too. Take a deep breath and relax0 -
Its usually advised not to apply for credit between your mortgage being approved and completion - as they generally credit check you again just before completion.
I think its possible the extra credit you've applied for could cause an issue with your mortgage so you need to get some advice on this.
Might be worth posting on the mortgage board.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for quick replies. Yes, if only I had waited a bit before loan app. Thought it was all sown up in the bag. Trying to be positive - if not I'll be at parents at lot longer than the month I thought.0

Are you sure about that?0 -

Increasingly so that checks are made. Lenders are fully aware to the extent that people will go to fund a property purchase and obtain a mortgage.0 -
Have moved to mortgages board. No idea how to delete from here. Sorry.0
