powergen scrap standing charges and cap prices
apparently! from september 6th they are removing the standing charges from gas and electric and will implement a 2 tier pricing system (for normal electric meters, i cant say about economy 7 may be more than 2 tier)
also you can apply to cap your price until july 2006 i think, (its on the web site) BUT YOU have to apply, it is not done automatically!
i did a price comparison today and realised it was worthless based on their current pricing system....will look again after september 6th

With out a doubt their 'no-standing charge' bills will be the same construction as British Gas etc.
high rate - low rate * kWh per year at high rate = old standing charge.
The E7 rate is norm 2 teir on day rates, but low rate remains on a single teir.
If you happy with Powergen then i'm sure the boss would say grab this cap price offer, as prices will be going up.
PakI say what I like, I like what I say!0
