    Thanks, I totally understand that. I wasn't thinking for a second of not being truthful with any application. I just don't see why anxiety should be a reason to be refused cover.
  • I am pretty sure the reason for your problem is Scot Prov.

    Their underwriters are very picky and I have experience of policies being postponed/declined for reasons which other insurers have no problem with.

    Thanks for that info, I am hopeful another company won't see this minor issue as a stumbling block.

    any application you make from now on will ask if you have been offered non standard terms or declined with another insurer.

    Seriously, try to resolve the issue with scot prov first. You dont have to go with them but its worth trying to sort it out.

    I had a recent case with a decision to defer. I asked Scot Prov who wouldn't tell me or the client the reason for the decision. All they would do is tell me to refer the applicant to the GP.
