Barclaycard application delays

Has anyone else experenced huge delays in the application for a 0% transfer to a Barclaycard to move some debt from EGG.
Its been a month now and I have ever only received the letter that asks you to ring in with your details and is a security check.
Rang the call centre multiple times and initialy kept being told 'just a few more days as its popular and they have lots of applications.
I was then told to write in to the uk head office as the application has somehow gone wrong and doing this will get the process going again. i copied the letter to the Customer Relations dept.
Tried to get an application for a diffrent card and was refused. Checked my record and it is excelent but does show that Barclay Card has made checks.
A week later I was told that they would put somthing on my file and arrange a call back in 24 hours and I should name a phone number and a time.
A week later and still no joy. Rang again and was told that the 24 thing was load of codwallop. Now that I told them that I have also sent a complaint to the CR dept, who have said they will resolve by the 2nd Sept, they are now saying that my application will be resolved by then. Basicly UI have now given them an excuse to delay until then.
They say they ( the call centre in india ) have no direct telephone line to the head office applications processing dept otherwise they would have already used it. There is nothing they can do as head office app dept are basicly isolated from the rest of the buisiness. There is no one who you can ring that can do anything.
Im being held hostage as the credit checks look likely to stop me seeking credit elsewhere.
Shockingly bad state of affares. If I ran a buisiness like this I would have gone under long ago.
Has any one had a similar experience or advise on how to get through to someone who can actualy do something?

I applied for BC & transfer from Halifax account (last week). I received the card but as it's the weekend I'm not sure how the transfer is going. Will keep looking on here for updates & if you have any further luck keep us posted as I'm sure many people have made use of the offer.0

Well, time for an update:
The 2nd of september came and went, a letter arrived on the 6th that said that they could not find ANY of my many telephone calls and therefore couldnt realy comment on what had happened and and that my application was STILL pending.
They refused 'compensation' as its not policy but offered £15 pounds as compensation for all the calls with a cheque came a few days later for the amount.
The letter finished off by stating that they hoped the explination was 'helpful', even though there wasnt one, and they hoped that they 'answered all my concerns'. Ya, right.
I have 8 weeks to comment otherwise it will be considered closed.
Also stated that there was a Financial Ombudsman Service leaflet inclosed, but there was not.
What planet are these people on?
What do people think, go back to Barclays and give them hell, or give up and go the F Ombudsman Service?0 -
I had applied online to do a balance transfer, all went through ok and my card arrived shortly after.
It had been a few weeks and I hadn't received my pin, nor had the balance transfer been done so I gave them a ring today.
It was clearly one of their call centres abroad so to speak :-) and I was passed from pillar to post, eventually ending up talking to a fraud team.
I explained I was just chasing up the balance transfer, and she said that following my application, further checks had been made and my application was now refused!
I am shocked especially having received a card, and also was concerned that I had been passed to a fraud team.
The lady wouldn't tell me why my application was refused, and advised me to destroy the card as "it was useless"!!
She wouldn't answer any of my questions and just said that Barclaycard were working to improve their application system to avoid problems like this.
Has anyone else had this happen?0
