Currently HD DVD's do not have any region coding built into the discs so you can play HD DVD's from any region which gives you a much wider choice as their are not many region 2 HD DVD's at the moment compared to USA versions

I picked up a HD DVD add on for my 360 before christmas as it is a cheaper way to get into HD if you already have an xbox 360 as the cheapest standalone HD DVD player is apparantly £400 and considering the only blueray player I have seen is £700 - £999 depending where you purchase it from HD DVD is the more affordable option

I very much doubt either HD-DVD or Bluray will win. LG have just announced the first dual format player, and Warner Bros have developed a disc which supports both the Bluray and HD-DVD format.

So everyone will end up with a player that supports both anyway :T Then I guess the publishers choose which format to release their films on.

King kong was only incuded in the first batch of HD DVD drives that were sold in the UK and once the fisrt batch has been finished Microsoft stopped including it, it's the same as when the premium 360 came out they gave a free mini media remote with the first batch of units to be sold

You may be lucky and still get one with King kong but I thought the remote is suppose to be included in all the boxes even the latest ones

But play did not have any so it is unfair. In USA shops still have the kk and remote.
