Good news from my BH complaint. One of three claims have been upheld. The other two were rejected but were a bit on the risky side anyhow as can't remember full details of application as more on what I thought was said rather than the actual conversation, whereas the one that was upheld I remember vividly.
Figures:
Refund of premiums and interest: £3029.29
Excess balance and interest: £2918.14
8% Interest: £570.06
Total: £6396.49
The excess balance and interest is to cover the refinance cost of outstanding PPI on refinancing twice.
I am a happy man and will be sending acceptance as soon as original arrives in post.

Well the first acceptance form was "lost in the post" when I sent it back to them and the second copy was sent special delivery and they received it yesterday at 7am. Phoned last night and some customer service "agent" said they would pay within 8 weeks. Oh no they won't, they will pay within 4 weeks. In fact the acceptance letter gave 4 weeks from date of letter presuming it was accepted within 2 weeks.
At least MBNA are up front and say we will send cheque within 28 days,

Thanks for the update, hope they get a move on and you won't have much longer to wait.Well the first acceptance form was "lost in the post" when I sent it back to them and the second copy was sent special delivery and they received it yesterday at 7am. Black Horse seem to have problems communicating internally. So far I have had 3 upheld letters, one with an amount (the first one) and two without. I called on friday to get an update to get told an amount which was missing the "excess balance and interest". I queried this and was on hold for an hour whilst they worked out what was going on, they came back and admitted a mistake in spelling my surname so missed a large proportion of the refund and I was actually due around £8500. Today I receive another letter with regard to the complaint that was upheld asking for a FOS form to be submitted so that they can start processing a telephone conversation that I had with them on 3rd February 2011 when I said the policy was missold. This was just a comment I made with regard to the PPI when I was querying another part of my policy which was the start of the process I took to send them forms in March 2011.
I had better phone them again tomorrow and do we have a sweepstake on how much the refund changes this time ;-)

That's great news. We have had our claim declined. They said that we were told about the benefits of the policy and that we had 30 days to cancel it! They don't accept that we were TOLD that in order to be accepted we HAD to take out the insurance. We were in a bad place financially and had the loan secured on the house because of our credit rating being so bad. We aren't sure where we go from here, but if you have any contacts at Blackhorse I would be grateful if you could share them!
Well done again!0 -
I kept emailing the CEO and my complaint was escalated to the risk and compliance team.
