Shedworld! - no goods no contact

Hi All
Im having an absolute nightmare with the firm shedsworld.co.uk part of the world store chain. I ordered a shed last saturday and thought all was well. They took the money out of our account Monday 8th August and still heard nothing from them. My fiancee rang them to ask when it was going to be delivered and they werent able to tell him?! they told him to ring back. Weve tried ringing back to the after sales dept several time over the last 4 days and all we get is put on hold for indefinate periods with no answer... longest was 27 mins before i hung up!
Ive emailed them asking for my order to be cancelled as ive read people comments/reviews stating that they ring you up out of the blue to tell you it will be delivered the next day. Now neither me or my fiancee can get time off work at the drop of a hat and theyre not responding to email so i not sure how to proceed. Im thinking of ringing the bank and filing a fraud claim for goods not recieved! as you cant contact them by phone or by email. It seems to me theyre literally taking peoples money and ignoring them!
Any advice?
Thanks
Laura

Have you read MSE's Consumer Rights article?
If so, did you see the bit about Distance Selling Regulations?
DSRs give you the right to cancel the order and receive a refund of all monies paid.
If you do cancel the order under DSRs, it is ok to refuse the delivery if it is made.
They must refund your money as soon as possible, but in any case within 30 days.
Have a read of the thread entitled READ ME FIRST PLEASE . . . Useful links, Resources and FAQs, where you will find a link to the OFT's guide to the DSRs, and other useful stuff.0 -

Aah, like a good many people on here, I have him on ignore, but I presume he said something like you shouldn't buy sheds over the internet, or that it's your own fault for not checking the reviews before you buy, or some such nonsense.
Your purchase is covered by the distance selling regulations and you can cancel the order within seven working days, starting from the day after the date of delivery. As you goods have not yet been dispatched, you will not have to pay any return postage.
So, immediately get on back to them by e-mail, followed up by a letter, to cancel the order in writing. They will then have up to thirty days to refund your money. If they don't do this, you can claim back from your credit/debit card. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

...makes sense does it?...hey feel free to listen to to the recently banned man0 -
thanks everyone (flyboy 152 and wealdroam) for all the helpful advice, ive emailed them and actually managed to speak to a human being on a telephone line. Theyve put it through to the cancellations dept. so hopefully i wont have to escalate it with the bank or anyone else. I ordered decking the same day from another company who are devon based but source locally and it arrived on thursday no hassle. I guess i picked a dud company!.
Wealdroam - i will refuse delivery if they show up esp as we prob wont be in as they dont seem to ring you to let you know when they will be delivering. They said on the phone it had been delayed... but again no communications.. i read under the DSR that it was the sellers responsibility to inform customers of issue that arose under the contract so there out of luck.. im continuing with my cancellation, never to deal with them again!

Just to let you know that Shedworld are still doing the 'No communication' trick. Bought a shed on the 5th June with the 7-10 delivery time, after 15 days I contacted them (after a 15min wait on hold) to be told that there had been a communication error to the supplier and they never recieved the order BUT it had been resloved and in good faith they refunded me the cost of delivery. Well 2 weeks later I have had to ring again only this time to be told the shed is no longer being made!
Do they not communicate with either the suppliers or the customers?
Anyway long and short is they are making a full refund.
Stay away!0
