Not very big. £1,000 in £20 notes only weighs 50 grams. Thats just a bit more than £5 in £1 coins(@47.5 grams) or about £8 in £2 coins(@48 grams) .totallybroke wrote: »wow that mustve been a big wallet
Although £1,000,000 is quite heavy at 50kg in £20 notes.:footie:

They can ask but usually wont as the regulations state verification is only required over a certain limit [£5,500]0 -
You should have said "wait a minute" then proceed to count "1 pence, 2 pence, 7 pence" and see how long you can waste their time.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Why, for doing their job?
These telephone aplications are all scripted and recorded, the people asking the questions get quality assessed every week, their team leader will pull out random calls and listen in to them to make sure the person has asked all the questions and followed procedure.
they are only doing their job and people being arsey with them doesn't help.
It's one of the scripted questions to ask how much cash people have, they may have nowt in the bank but plenty in their pocket/wallet, you don't ask you don't find out...0 -
Ok then thickness... £1,000 in £20's is 5.5mm thick. I imagine it would be folded so the folded wad of notes would be 11mm thick. The thickness of a £1 coin is 3.15mm thick so £4 in £1 coins is thicker than £1,000 in folded £20 notes. hehe..it aint much still. I used to withdraw the rent in cash every month to pay the landlord and £600 hardly felt like anything.who said anything about weight?! hehe:footie:
