nPower wanted to double my monthly charges
Options
I got a letter from nPower today saying they were going to DOUBLE my Electricity monthly direct debit from £19 to £38. When I rang them, they said they would look at my account and then came up with an offer of £23.
SO HOW DID THEY COME UP WITH THE FIGURE OF £38 IN THE FIRST PLACE?
It shows that they will try it on. We all need to keep a careful watch on these companies.

More like incompetence, I'd say! Have you got a debt at the end of tour year, which has been taken in to the next year's calcs. If you have a rise from £18 to £23 seems very very modest IMO. Have you got bills baed on actual or what you know to be reasonable estimates for the commencement and the end of the last 12 months? use these to calculate conxumptiom at current rates ( or if a rise is known about at the new rates) add in debt or credit balance and divide total by 12. Tjis will ensure you are paying correct sum per month.0

They did the same to me on my both gas and electric.
They wanted to change the gas from £40 to £132 per month!, we owe them £200+, but even so. I phoned them and they agreed at £60 per month!
Looks like they want the general populous to provide them with some free cashflow!0
