DVLA Vehicle Check - vehicle not showing?
My parents have just bought a used car from a private seller and I know they should've HPI'd, but they didn't! Schoolboy/girl error!
I've entered the reg and make onto DVLA's Vehicle Enquiry online Service only to be told; Vehicle details could not be found !
They've got lots of paperwork, new keepers supplement, service history old MOT's, 6 months tax, signed and dated receipt etc.
Just weird that it's in daily use and the cops haven't pulled them over..?

It could have had a private plate and been re-registered . It takes the DVLA computer some time to catch up with thisYou scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Do the police check the DVLA? don't they just check the MIB0

Happened to a friend with a bike he bought. Turns out it had been taken to Ireland for a bit then brough back to UK so it had "dropped off the system" according to the copper who did pull us over for it, then made us follow him to the station to determine what had happened.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Could be an imported vehicle, not all of them get inputted correctly."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

Phone the DVLA and let them sort it out. If it was a plate change the details of the car that it been transferred to at least would come up.0

Yes they do check the DVLA, that is where they get registration details from. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Could have been an Import OR (what everyone seems to have missed) it could have been an ex-Police vehicle.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
