I'm going from today and me and my housemate will be having the following, all made in a Slimming World friendly way while I fight the flab:
Fri 12th - Nachos and lots of beer - I have friends over tonight and it's quick and easy.
Sat 13th - Brunch - Full breakfast (Bacon, sausage, egg, beans, toast)
Dinner - Left over chilli from the nachos on butternut squash wedges
Sun 14th - Brunch - Bacon butties
Dinner - Going to Birmingham and to the balti triangle for a family thing, drooooool.
Mon 15th - Lunch - Sarnie
Dinner - Puerto Rican steak sandwiches - cheap frying steak marinated in coriander, chilli and garlic. Grilled and put in sandwich with a spicy mayo, salad and potato matchsticks.
Tue 16th - Lunch - Ham and cheese gnocchi bake
Dinner - Gammon, egg and chips
Wed 17th - Lunch - Ham and cheese gnocchi bake
Dinner - Prawn and pak choi fried rice with prawn crackers
Thurs 18th - Lunch - leftover fried rice
Dinner - Chickpea and aubergine curry with HM flatbreads
Fri 19th - Lunch - anchovy and breadcrumb fusilli
Dinner - Something from the freezer (I think I have fish fingers), chips and tinned spaghetti.
Sat 20th - Brunch - Eggs and bacon
Dinner - Tom Yam soup with noodles and whatever protein source is in the freezer OR Mackerel that I think is still in the freezer
Sun 21st - Brunch - Tomato soup and HM bread rolls
Dinner - HM fish, chips and mushy peas
Then it's pay day/freezer restock day. Yaaaaay! Not that it's hugely relevant now but I found a pack of lamb neck fillet last time I went reduced hunting and it was 500g for £2. It's made the most amazing curry that's been portioned into 6 and to be brought out in case of takeaway lust.
Has anyone got any pasta recipes they are particularly proud of? I have a few (Carbonara, ham and cheese bake and anchovy, garlic and breadcrumb) but I'm always on the look out for new ones so I'd love to hear them."We always find something, hey Didi, to give us the impression we exist?" Thanks for starting the thread hotcookie. I think it's better when the thread is started well in advance. A few months ago it was often posted on the Thursday before.
Sat - liver, bacon & onions with gravy, baked potato, runner beans, beetroot leaves
Sun - cod with stuffing, new potatoes & chives, spinach beet, glazed carrots
Mon - chilli con carne, rice, green salad
Tue - spinach & bacon quiche, green salad, tomato salad
Wed - gammon steak, fried courgette, saute potato
Thu - grilled herring, bnb, followed by eve's pudding
Fri - nut roast, beetroot leaves, roast parsnip0 -
Sunday -- Salmon with new potatoes & veg
Monday -- Tagliatelle Carbonara
Tuesday -- Garlic chicken & rice
Wednsday -- Tandoori chicken kebaba
Thursday -- Cottage pie
Friday -- Fish & chips
Saturday -- Spag bol.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Friday - pasta al lago (it's my version of what used to be offered in the canteen of a previous workplace (called 'the Lakeside restaurant', hence the name) as 'pasta carbonara' - it's bacon and onion cooked together until golden, then mixed with cooked pasta, peas, grated cheddar cheese and beaten egg over heat until the egg scrambles. I apologise to any Italians currently sobbing with horror at that being referred to as 'carbonara', but I promise it's really good!)
Saturday - pepperoni, squash and bean stew with HM tomato and cheese flatbread
Sunday - club sandwich (from last week's menu but it never got eaten)
Monday to Thursday -
frying pan lasagne
gardener's pie
lamb and lentil curry-stuffed squash
Thai prawn curry
Maitane - one of my favourite pasta dishes is courgette, bacon and soft cheese - grated courgette cooked with chopped smoked bacon, garlic and a pinch of herbs until soft, then mixed with soft cheese. I usually do it as a pasta bake, topped with sliced tomato, but it makes a nice sauce, too, if thinned down with some of the pasta water. As long as the bacon's lean and you use low fat soft cheese it's pretty healthy, something that's important to me at the moment, too.Back after a very long break!0 -

Well, as you ask...
Gardener's pie is mixed veg in cheese sauce topped with sliced potatoes and grated cheese and baked - it's great for using up the odds and ends left over from my veg box.
Frying pan lasagne is lasagne sheets, tomato sauce and whatever filling you like layered up in a frying pan, topped with cheese sauce then stuck under the grill. The original recipe is here but I tend to replace the olives with mushrooms or some other sort of veg. It's not 'proper' lasagne, but it's a pretty good substitute for a midweek dinner.Back after a very long break!0 -
Chez cat this week, we will be eating:
Sat: HM chicken curry
Sun: Dinner at my parent's house
Mon: Pizza with salad
Tue: Risotto (Turkey and pesto)
Wed: HM barley broth with pudding!
Thu: Spaghetti Bolognese
Fri: Chicken pie, roast potatoes & vegetables
As we already have a lot of food in the house, I'm perplexed why the weekly shop came to £75 this week!:eek:DFW Nerd Club #545 Dealing With Our Debtnever attribute anything to malice which can be adequately explained by stupidity, [paranoia or ignorance] - ZTD&[cat]

Hi, the italian brisket and rosemary spuds sound fab! Do you have a recipe?

Our plan is as follows:

Monday - malaysian chicken and rice
Tuesday - chilli and rice (might have mine on a jacket spud as I'm sick of rice)
Wednesday - can't remember (I'm doing this from memory at parents house)
Thursday - hm donner kebabs with HM oven chips and salad0
