Good or bad starts to the new year?

I'm due to have first baby in 12 weeks (less) so me and hubby are working really hard to sort stuf out before munchkin joins us.

I'm wondering what the good money things are you have done this week and the not so good....

I'll start:

Good- Just renewed my home insurance and its dropped 35% :j
Good - Booked 2 nights for the price of 1 at a Best Western the same one me and hubby went on our first weekend away to.
Bad - Lost my Tesco deal Vouchers worth £60 before deals which means meals when we are away wont be quite such a bargin:mad:

I'm currently turning the house upside down!!!

    A good start for me

I got a new job today ( part time) , and an interview for a full time one on Tuesday.
Chased dole money thats on its way - finally.

No sign of the house move happening till next week at the earliest, so not so great on that front, but gives me a bit of time to focus on making money which is always a good thing!

Congratulations! Both on part-time job and new avatar! (Although it will remind me that she's the reason I can't afford a house :rotfl: )

Weird so far, lots of good, some bad stuff.

Trying not to dwell on the bad, I get my office keys next monday, and will then start to crack on, am in a bit of a transition at the moment.

Money wise ive been out once, spending around 10 quid, and im off out tonight, need to destress and do some moshing methinks.

  • Good start, much better than last year!

All bills paid and I'm still £500 inside my overdraft limit! Hurrah. Still 3 weeks and 5 days til payday but that thought scares me far less than I thought it would. I even have a few vouchers that were Christmas gifts to spend. Yay!

Good in terms of the fact that I am dealing with our finances head on.

Bad in terms of the realisation just how high the mountain is that I have to climb!
