If it's a short video - then JingProject would do everything you want.
It's by the same people who created camtasia - so it's very good, but it is limited to how long you can record a single video for.
Or as someone suggested - if you could show them live you can now share screens with skype - so they could watch as you do!0 -
I've used http://camstudio.org/ a couple of times, free and east to use.
