Edinburgh - hotel recommendations??

We're planning on taking the train to Edinburgh and staying for a couple of days the first week in September. I'd like a nice hotel but needs to be pretty central - I'm 6 months pregnant and on crutches. I quite fancy the idea of a pool but am flexible. Any recommendations or bargains to be had?

I'm not sure that pool and bargain go hand in hand. Central hotels with a pool are the Balmoral and Scotsman (there may be others), but they're not known for being cheap. I think a lot of the recent Royal Wedding guests stayed at the Balmoral and I did see one bus load leaving from there. It's right next door to the station, if that's important due to your mobility.

There are plenty of other decent non-pool hotels centrally, so it's really just a question of your budget.

have just been up couple months back and stayed at the ritz hotel grosvenor street

no pool
but lovely and 20 yards from the haymarket station
ask for a ground floor room though cos i didnt see a lift

was £58for the room for 2 inc full scots brekkie

Seriously, if you are going only for a couple of days Im not sure you would have time for a pool anyway, particularly in your current physical condition.
