New 0% purchase credit cards

I have done a little stoozing a year or so ago and have just cancelled all my (now expired) 0% purchase cards with the plan to start again. I did ot have a barclay card so that is my 1st then I will go to Tesco M&S etc after 6 months.
Until earlier this week I had probably £50k of credit (all unused) that I have just cancelled. This will affect my Barclay card application. How long should I wait until this available credit comes off by credit record.
I thought 2 weeks before applying to Barclacard.
Cheers

It usually takes 4-6weeks for your credit file to be updated to reflect that you have closed accounts/reduced your credit limits etc. It can happen sooner depending on when in the monthly reporting cycle for each creditor you closed the account.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
