HSBC have agreed to refund..

BUT, I'm trying to work out what I get.

They've agreed to refund PPI on a succession of loans I had with them going back to 1999. Now is it the case that you had PPI of a on loan x and all this then gets bundled into loan y with ppi of b on it. So a ppi refund should give you back a + b? Or am I oversimplifying it?

You'd need to have a look at the loan agreements to see how much the replacement loan was for, and how this relates to the outstanding balance of the previous loan.

It's possible you may have been given a partial rebate on the first PPI when taking up the second loan etc.
  • Well it's a succession of 5 loans (I was a bit financially irresponsible when I moved to London) all of which had PPI on them and really, I just want to be sure there'll be enough of the refund to pay off the outstanding amount - I'm sure it will but it'd just be nice to know. As it'd be nice to have my "Debt Free by Forty One" plan done when I'm 39!
