Laying ceramic floor tiles?

Has anyone experience of laying such tiles over old vinyl tiles that are flat and in good condition?
What adhesive might do it?
I realise this is not ideal, but would save a lot of labour and time. The doors ( five) are already trimmed to accommodate the carpet I have removed.

i would honestly advise getting a large shovel and taking them up. but if thats really not an option remove any loose ones, then prime with an acrylic bonding agent, then follow with a polymer modified adhesive such as a flexible one part adhesive.

Stay away from diy adhesives and use a good trade one like granfix or BAL.

A large shovel works well if they are not stuck fast. If they are hard to remove, use a scraper, such as a wall paper scraper with a stiff blade, and a hammer. Place scraper under edge, hit handle with hammer! You can also use a heat gun (with caution for obvious reasons) to loosen the adhesive. Bear in mind that some vinyl floor tiles contain asbestos, so it is advisable to damp down the floor with a water spray, wear a face mask, and sweep up properly. The risk is VERY low. And you need to dispose of them in an approved dump.

Personally I would remove vinyl floor tiles. They are vile, and they are a condensation trap although under ceramic tiles I guess that would not be an issue. Also they shrink with time, which might destroy the adhesion to any tiles layed on top. But not being a tiler, I cannot say if that is a real risk, but my guess is that over a long time, it is.

Yes thanks, I realise it's not ideal to put ceramic over vinyl. I know how to remove etc.
My question asks for any experience of laying them over old vinyl, they are 20 yrs old so I'd guess they have done all their shrinking.

There's no need to get shirty, I was trying to be helpful having spent many days removing them myself. Sorry I wasted my time writing a post.
