any tips for laying turf onto very wet ground?

Options
hi all,

stupidly chose to have my turf delivered today and have no way of rescheduling.

have had rain all week and this morning woke up to it pouring down outside and the ground the turf is to be laid onto is sodden :( It has rained so much that there is surface water because the soil isn't draining quick enough for the amount of rain.

not sure what time today the turf will be delivered could be any time up till about 5pm i think.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do? should i leave it until tomorrow for the rain to ease off and the water to drain or should i go ahead and lay the turf today?

thanks in advance for all advice and suggestions :)

I'd just use boards to walk on so you don't compress the soil. They always say new turf needs loads of water to help it root!
