Will try and keep this asshort and simple as possible.
My house has been on the market for 12 months without a successful sale.
I was planning to move to the Irish Republic so in desperation contacted a few of these sell quick agents so I would be selling at a reduced valuation which I begrudgingly had to accept.
I arranged with a company come out and see me to prove my identity, he took photo of my driving licence and asked me to sign a copy to say it was a true likeness of me and off he went,he was not with me for more than 3 mins max. Two days later as was contacted by this company to say they would arrange a valuation which they did, again no more than 10 mins.
In the mean time my appointed long term agents rang to say they had a cash buyer offering a higher amount than the sell quick co I had spoken to. I said I would accept this offer. I called and emailed the other company to say I no longer wished to proceed. On the 4th June I moved to Ireland. I recieved on tueday a letter from the land registry dated 6th to my old address in UK stating a charge had been put on my property for the sum of £8360.80. I had no idea what this was for but after calling my solicitor he informed it was from the company I had asked to sell my property quick. They are refusing to speak to me ...conflict of interests!!!! and will not tell me what these charges are for. I am about to exchange contracts but this has now come to a grinding halt because I am refusing to settle this charge. Phew long winded I know can anyone please help. I am terrified I am going to lose my sale now.
Thanks

What did you sign?0

There must be more to this. Sounds like you signed more than a driving licence. How could you sign a copy of a photo? Did he have a polaroid camera?0

I didn't understand your last few lines, who are refusing to speak to you, the selling company or your solicitor?0

Write to them giving them 7 working days to provide evidence that you owe them any money, as you do not acknowledge any monies owed to them, and had no contract with them.
Are you sure you didn't sign anything else?
Go speak to CAB, as this could make your house sale fall through.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Sounds like you have signed some type of sole agency agreement and now they want their money.0
