Boxclever (Radio Rentals) / Credit Security

I've been receiving telephone calls from a company called Credit Security for the past few weeks. Repayments on any debts I have are fully up to date, but having done some searching on the internet, the calls most probably relate to a TV/ Video rental agreement I had with Radio Rentals, which subsequently became Boxclever.
I took out a rental agreement with Radio Rentals in the mid 1990s for a TV / Video with the (then) obligatory product protection insurance. In 2010, I decided I no longer wished to continue with the agreement and called Boxclever to cancel. I got nowhere on the 'phone trying to cancel, but was simply passed from one person to another who was trying to encourage me either to take out a new agreement or to buy the rented products off them for a nominal fee.
I therefore cancelled the agreement with Boxclever in writing and asked they arrange for someone to collect their equipment. Months passed and I heard nothing. So I wrote to Boxclever again later in the year, cancelling the agreement and requesting they collect their equipment. I heard nothing from Boxclever. I called Boxclever again and was given the hard sell, but held my ground and spoke to a gentleman who said he would arrange for someone to contact me later that day... but nobody did. I wrote to Boxclever again at the start of this year and again there was no response to my letter.
I spoke to my bank and they suggested that the simplest thing to do would be to write to Boxclever informing them that I would be cancelling the direct debit, which I duly did and provided them with 1 months notice and again requested the collect their equipment. No response was received from Boxclever.
After cancelling the direct debit, I initially heard nothing, but recently have began getting telephone calls along the lines of 'Good morning, this is Miss Bloggs from Credit Security. Can I speak with Mr. Bloggs?' Next I'm asked to verify the first line of my address and provide my date of birth, which I refuse to do - on the basis that I don't provide personal information to anyone on the 'phone. Initially, they claimed they couldn't proceed with the call for security reasons.
More recently, they are claiming to have written to me on 3 separate occasions during July... only I haven't received a single letter from them, unless they are writing to me at the original address from which the equipment was rented. I have moved house on a number of occasions since, but each time I have notified Boxclever and all other companies I deal with.
During today's call, they reiterated that they had written to me on 3 occasions but also said that they would be seeking a CCJ and I could lose my home, even if it was a different address to the address they had written to me at (!)
So in summary:
1. I don't owe Boxclever a penny - the account was fully up to date at time of cancellation
2. I wrote to them repeatedly over the space of 15 months, trying to cancel the contract, but the correspondence was never acknowledged
3. I obviously can't be 100% sure the Credit Security calls relate to Boxclever, but am 99.999% certain they do as I'm not in default to anyone else and never have been.
4. Credit Security clearly don't have my current address.
5. Can they obtain a CCJ in these circumstances?
I'd appreciate any advice as to how I proceed.
Many thanks

How about asking Credit Security to put their questions/queries/accusations/whatever in writing?
Of course you may have to wait until they next ring to be able to do that, and you will need to give them your current address if they don't know it already.0 -

Or just ask them to write to whatever address they have (which is really most likely the current address) and ask them to have it "signed for" delivery.
OP, do you any proof of sending the letters to Boxclever? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Well, the OP did tell us ...More recently, they are claiming to have written to me on 3 separate occasions during July... only I haven't received a single letter from them, unless they are writing to me at the original address from which the equipment was rented. Thanks for the replies. The difficulty in communicating with them on the 'phone is that they just talk over me and then they say they cannot continue with the call and abruptly end it.
I have attempted to ask that they write to me (even though I'm very hesitant about handing out my address) or that they e-mail me (which I would prefer, I've even set up an e-mail address for the purpose). But they just talk over me and as stated previously, terminate the call. They won't even answer the question 'What's this in connection with?', which initially led me to conclude somebody was trying to scam me, until I did some digging on the internet.
There's no reason why Boxclever shouldn't have my new address, I advised them of it when I moved here a number of years ago and the it has been stated on all correspondence to them together with agreement numbers etc. But as yet I haven't had a single response to any letter to them. However, elsewhere on the internet, it seems that Boxclever will have sold my 'debt' to Credit Security... even though there is no debt outstanding.
With regard to correspondence with Boxclever - I have copies of all the letters, but none were sent by recorded delivery or registered post. However, a letter was sent yesterday and it has gone by registered post - reaffirming cancellation of the contract and requesting yet again they collect their equipment.
Regards

Well, the OP did tell us ...
So it seems possible, if not likely, that they do not have a current address, don't you think?
Or they are lying. Not impossible to imagine really. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
