Experian bank charge Debt applied 4 years later!

Hi,
4 years ago I asked natwest for my statements to claim back charges. Then they closed all my accounts down (I had recently opened a business acct too and banked with them for over 10 years)
My accounts read BAL TO BBD FINCON ACCT CLOSED.
I had overdrafts on both my account. I was sent a default letter for these, then after speaking with the onbudsman I then got a letter from natwest stating I did not need to pay back my overdrafts. The debt was never applied to experian.
4 years later and the debt has suddenly appeared on my experian report with no corrospondance from natwest!
This is affecting my credit history badly and I need to apply for a mortgage.
Help!
