Help with Social Tariffs and the new scheme?

Evening
I've been doing some research into social tariffs and came across the new Warm Home Discount, although the core group is only pension credit I may when its sorted fall into the broader group for one of the suppliers? Does anyone know when this will come into effect?
I can currently get onto the EDF Energy Assist tariff but when I spoke to them today they said that they have cheaper lock in deals? I am confused as the social tariffs are meant to be the cheapest they can offer?
Is the Warm Home Discount going to make it work out cheaper than the social tariffs? If so I know British Gas have now stopped the Essentials and automatically do the Warm Home Discount scheme instead so if that works out cheaper than I will try to get that!
Does anyone have some figures? It's like trying to get blood out of a stone lol! :rotfl:

You will be too late to change supplier this year. Whoever is supplying you on 11.09.2011 will be the company that gives you the Warm home discount if you qualify so you need to speak to your current supplier now. The amount of this is £120 so check this out against any fixes you may get elsewhere.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
