I get this message when trying to make a post with a link in, only I'm not a new user having been registered since 2006.Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links
So I guess not being able to post links must be based on post count.
Have checked the Forum Rules but haven't been able to find the number of posts required before being able to post links.
Does anyone know how many it is?
Thanks

you can still post details of sites eg www moneysavingexpert com - you just can't put the dots in, and MSE doesn't make them linkable. This helps to stop search engines detecting and following the links and upping spammers' page ranks.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Sadly we were forced to impose some restrictions on new users to prevent spammers clogging up the forums and ruining them for everyone. New users who use the forums normally for a few days see will restrictions lifted in no time. We don't reveal the algorithm we use to decide how any particular user is ready to post links. To do so would assist spammers. Apologies for any inconvenience.
