Nintendo DS Lite

Hi All,

I am looking for a Nintendo DS in black for my OH's Birthday this month. Anyone know of any good deals on them? I have tried looking about but it seems out of stock in most places and no good deals to be had. I really just want the console as I have been getting games from other places for it.

Also (this sounds really stupid) but sometimes I see them listed as DS and sometimes DS Lite, is there a difference?

TIA
Mrs S!

  • Well, if you go to google and type in DS and then DS lite you'll instantly see the aesthetic difference. The only other real difference between the two is the DS lite has better battery life and has more backlight brightness settings.

DS lite is basically version 2; that is to say it's more compact (asthetically it's smaller & looks prettier), & has slightly improved capabilities - as the poster above me said better battery life & more settings for the backlight. :D

You probably won't be able to buy a [new] DS non-lite though anymore, as stores tend not to stock them.

DS Lites? The cheapest I know of is, if you know someone who's a student, to buy one from Virgin using their student card and getting a Virgin student card, which comes in at £80, i believe.

There are packages in which you buy the DS and a game, but beware. Frequently the games that come with the package are awful, and are only really sold via these packages.

I think Game or Gamestation had the DS Lite with Super Monkeyball for £99.99 delivered.

Sure there was a £5 voucher somewhere and if you use a cashback site - rpoints/quidco etc even less.

These are of course UK spec not like the dvdstars one

    Good luck
