Ticketmaster Sales Lies!

Options
Hi,

I bought tickets online for England Vs India day 5 online on July 28.

My issue is that before i booked these tickets online I wanted to see if they were refundable if there is no or partial play on day 5. so i rang Edgbaston cricket ground to find out. I couldn't get through to the club so i was put through to ticket master.

The sales agent had told me that the tickets are refundable and that if there is no play on day 5 i can get a full refund and partial refund on partial play. The lady even explained the ways in which money is returned according to the number of overs played etc....

So with this Information the sales rep gave me, thinking the tickets were refundable i booked all the tickets online accepting the terms and conditions.

Now last friday my tickets had arrived and i find out the tickets are non refundable. I then ring again to ticket master explaining my issue in that i had bought these tickets under false information. I asked to speak to a manager , they were out on lunch and they took my details and said they'd ring me back by 3pm. They had not rang me back by then so i decided to ring again. This time i got to a manager and he took all my details and said he would e-mail the club and get back to me that day before 8. He left me a voicemail at 9pm saying that someone will get back to me on Monday after 8am.

I rang again on that Monday but still no issues resolved and nothing had come back to me. The manager i spoke to wasn't working at the time apparently so i gave my details over again and they said someone would ring me back on the same day. No one got back to me.

I rang back again on the Tuesday, again no one had rang me back after handing my details over the 3rd time.

I rang again today and again no one had anything for me. Apparently they checked their e-mails and there was nothing sent what so ever. So there was another lie as an e-mail was sent.

I then finally got through to Edgbaston and explained to them this issue and they said as i agreed with the T&C online, there is no way they will give me a refund as legally i accepted to it. They said that this information was given by ticketmaster which they do not deal with.

I'm really stressed out about this as i bought many tickets under the impression they were refundable. I also bought many tickets for friends, who i end up passing the lie to, so they are not happy with this, as this comes up to over £100....

All i have seen on the internet is the consumer rights

When you buy an item from a trader (eg a shop or online shop) the law says the item must be:
+of satisfactory quality – last for the time you would expect it to and be free of any defects
+fit for purpose – fit for the use described and any specific use you made clear to the trader
+as described – match the description on packaging or what the trader told you
If an item doesn’t meet any of these rights, it is faulty and you will usually have the right to a:
+repair
+replacement
+refund

The bold is what jumped out at me.

Is there anything I can do?

I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me because I am getting very worried about this.

Thanks
