Hi guys.
Trying to reclaim about a grand off car giant and they have sent me a good will gesture of £100.
Have no idea how to respond so anyone got a template I could steal please? X

I see they have made you an offer, do you mean they have already sent you the payment without you agreeing? The one and only "Dizzy Di"

No they just sent a letter saying they believe they are in the right basically and said if I accept this and won't go to the ombudsman I can have £100 as a good will gesture. I have to write back and say I accept or decline.
Obviously I decline and just wondered if anyone has any templates as I am hopeless at writing letters?
I can try and get the letter up here by taking a pic on my iPhone maybe?0 -
It's ok, how i missed this on your title i do not know lol.
Basically if your not happy with the offer, and its not the final decision, just write a letter in your own words, its more personal I think with you're own individual circumstances.
For example:
Dear Sir/Madam
Account number XXXXXX
Thank you for the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX
You have made me an offer of a goodwill gesture of £100, but I am not going to accept this offer as I feel it's rather low compared to the amount I requested in order of making my complaint with my reasons I have given you.
I am asking if you can consider the full amount I have paid into the account, plus interest paid on each payment, and also 8% interest of what a court would award.
Please reconsider my reasons as below (also as stated on my previous complaint you received on date XX/XX/XXXX
(And any further information to add - I would write as well).
I will consider taking this matter further if you reject my complaint or if you do not reconsider the amount as requested.
I look forward to hearing from you within 14 days of this letter, to give you time to reconsider the above, and if I don't hear anything from you by this time, or you do not change the offer, this will be going further for investigation with evidence I have to support my case.

Its worth bearing in mind that for each complaint that is accepted by the FOS the company being complained about has to pay a £500 case fee to the FOS. On that basis, if you were minded to accept a goodwill gesture, then I'd suggest that £500 is the minimum to accept as it'll cost them that much anyway. Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0
