  • there are no statutory grants for postgrad students.

however, once on the course, sometimes things become easier.

firstly there is the access to learning fund.
there may well be fee remission for those on a low income.
then there are educational grantmaking trusts.

i advise anyone to go for it - then get advice from the uni student advice centre ASAP
Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!

I did the CPE last year and am currently on the LPC.

As previous posters have said - there are no grants available for the CPE - i tried!!! As also stated you can get sponsored - but also difficult to obtain.

I worked for 8 years between by degree and CPE. I would recommend a period at work - in a legal environment - before the CPE is considered. A few of the students on my CPE who came straight from Uni did seem to lack motivation and appeared to struggle a bit. It is a difficult course - but perfectly achievable. I really enjoyed it and passed with a commendation.

Finding the LPC a bit hard going though!!!
