Ryman Matt Coated Inkjet Paper

Hi All

I bought this paper to print my photographs on but I can't tell which is the right side. It tells you absolutely nothing on the box and, as none of the sides are printed on.. I can't tell which side.

In the first instance I send off an email to Ryman Technical Department asking them how I could tell the difference and you would not believe the reply I received. The person stated that ....'she couldn't tell me as the packages are sealed and there are no instructions in the box' and she googled for some info (from unsubstantiated sources) that it depends on which side is the 'top side' of the box (it isn't in a box) and a lot of other stuff..... eg print on either side and if it looks terrible you have printed on the wrong side, turn the paper over and print again....

The person who suggested that obviously doesn't know the price of ink these days..

Does anyone else know how to tell ???

PS One side feels 'slippier' that the other

Thank you in anticipation

Cheers

Hold a piece of the paper horizontally by a window, look at both sides, print on the lightest side

Epson printers with a paper tray may need to have the paper loaded print side face down

Or ask them here, don't mention Rymans

Thanks for that... I'm of to the window....

    Cheers
  • Another option:
Lick your forefinger and thumb (lightly). Grip the paper between said digits. When you let go, the side to print on is the sticky side.
    Good luck!
