Vaccinations For India

Hi,

need to get mi jabs for india, going in 4.5 weeks. my drs dont do the jabs so found somewhere that does but it costs 120 quid approx for all needed. sounds steep, but not sure where else to go. tried google-ing to find other places but cant find anything.

does any1 know if this is standard cost if not getting it done at your own doctors. guess 120 aint bad for a lifesaver.

plus dont suppose any1 know best place for insurance for 3 months for india.

I go to India regularly (for business) and don't get any jabs for my trip lasting a week. Unless you intend to drink water from a cesspit, what makes you think you need them??

Hi I would have hep A.
There is a long list of rec jabs on health sites,its your decision what you decide to take. It also depends when and where you are going.
Our local clinic does a 1st jab, come back year later for 2nd jab, and covered for 20 years!, cost £80 but well worth it. Some are free at our GPs so do ask.Went to India last year and this was all we had. Check with local travel clinics,it may be cheaper to get some done at GP and some at clinic.

Insurance: I take yearly multi trip insurance covers for any number of trips max length 30 days per trip, I use the RAC as a member I get a discount. A friend who also uses them, had cause to need to claim and they paid up no problems.

Have a fab time, its a strange place and one we fell in love with.

We didn't go to India but the Carribean last year. We didn't have to pay for our jabs at our Doctors. I questioned this as i thought it would cost a lot but turns out the dr's apparantly get x amount free vaccinations from pharmacuitical (sp?) companies. My oh is with a different doctor to myself and he got his free too.

Worth asking.

since when?i'm still getting them i woudn't advise anyone not to either.

I travel to India once a year its great. I get my jabs free from my doctor but didn't get them last year opps! My travel insurance cost me £25-£30 from https://www.insureandgo book on line. also you can get malaria tablets out there (soon as you arrive from any chemist) there really friendly and accommodating.either a daily tablet or a weekly tablet there about 10p where as in the uk you pay about £16.
