Repairing 'roller' on a mirror wardrobe door

Posting for my mum, one of her mirror wardrobes is faulty, the wheeled part that rolls along the runner is broken - its just kinda dragging and scraping along. She has tried everywhere and keeps being told she needs to buy a new door, you cant just get the part replaced. Is this true?
She had them put in about 8 years ago, and has mirror doors along the length of her bedroom. If she cant repair it, and has to replace the door, she may well have to replace all 6 doors if she cant get a good enough match
help!

Take out the door that has the problem, they usually lift out, then remove the defective roller and find an good iromongers and show them what you want, they may have it in stock or they may be able to order it for you.0

I had a similar problem in my previous house, but the doors were not mirror fronted as your mother's are.
For months I'd lived with one of the large sliding doors just propped up against the bedroom wall. Unable to find anywhere that stocked the tracking, a friend advised replacing the whole top tracking with one that was currently available in big diy stores & offered to get the track & carry out the work for me. It was a perfect result & a relief to find I'd not have to have a whole new system installed after all.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
The problem is, a lot of these types of doors have parts that the manufacturer will have made for them. It is notoriously difficult to get individual parts for them. Is there any sticker on the door with the manufacturers name on. Try contacting them if there is. If not you will have to try to make do with something similar but not the same (a bit of a bodge job), or use catties suggestion and replace the track and all the runners. This would be cheaper than new doors. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Is the track the metal bit that is attached to the ceiling and the floor? Or is it the bit thats on the door itself. See thats the main problem, if we knew the proper name for it we could search further. In our case its the bit on the door iteself thats broken.
Its likely that it can be fixed but these large stores choose not to stock the parts, forcing you to buy a new door. She has the same problem too with her shower, the rubber seal which is attached to the bottom of it has split, B&Q have the stuff but not the proper fitting for her shower. maybe another post about that soon!
Your help is much appreciated folks.0 -

YesOr is it the bit thats on the door itself
That's your runners.
There are MANY different systems out there. Big manufacturers will go and order thousands (or tens of thousands) of a type at a time to use in their furniture. They don't necessarily use the same types that are available in the shops. You can try to speak to the shop that you bought them in. Explain your problem and ask them if they can give you the manufacturers contact details. They may not want to do this though. They will want you to buy from new again.
I've seen many different types of runners go over the years. I know it can be a real pain to get hold of the exact type you need.
Give it your best shot to get a replacement. Otherwise consider changing the track and runners with a different type (as long as it will fit!!) They all have different tolerances in height etc.
