Lost web history?

The other day I lost the Google search box, (had Google search bar but the search box had gone), managed somehow to get it back, but now seem to have lost my history search function, (probaly at the same time but I had not noticed), the one that you click and a box drops down with Today, 7 days, longer, I have a History button, but that takes me tyo Google mail and then informs me "error 440, or 404" can't remember which as it is not now happening, what is happening is that I am entering Google Web History, but it is only showing me up to the end of June 2011, nothing for July or August, any ideas how to get back the correct history button?

I have managed to sign in and have search dates from March 2nd 2077 up to June 29th 2011 then nothing until today’s date for 2 searches @ 3-44 and 3-46 p.m. But I am still not convinced this is the button I used to click as I never had to sign in anywhere nor did it direct me to Googlemail?
