It may look just like a normal picture but open it up by right clicking and selecting open with and selecting your browser.

There a 2 issues here: Are you saving it in the right format, and is whatever you then display it in capable of rendering an animated image properly.

In Chromium (the Linux version of Chrome) I just need to right-click the image, choose Save Image As... and select the default in the filename form image.gif (though in some versions of Windows the .gif part ~may~ be hidden).

Whether it then displays as an animation depends what you open it with. The older versions of MS Paint can't render GIFs, for example, while Windows Picture and Fax viewer can.

It's also possible that the animation is a different format (e.g. .MNG), but without knowing that and what you're opening it with, that's really just guesswork.

Thanks, it worked, but it is only giving me e9 as an option.

    Thanks.

Let me guess, are you using windows 7 perchance?

I wager that your problem is with regard to the picture viewer in win7 it opens animated GIFs as just the first frame. You proved that was the issue by opening it with a browser (if I read correctly)..

Basically it is saved as animated, you just need a programme which can open the animated version

oh and as an aside, you can add chrome to the list of software that you can 'open with' fairly easily..

Right click on the picture, and choose open with, just under the IE9 option there is a line which says 'other programmes' (sorry programs -- except i'm not in america, so we'll use the classic English spelling).. at the far right of that there is a little arrow pointing downwards..

Click on the arrow and look for chrome in that list, if it isnt there the task is a little more complex :)

    enjoy
