there are works around chiswick park which means doing a bus so need to avoid that. what's a good place top park. when were done we have to travel back to cambridge area so really want an easy escape route out of town.

If it we're me I'd Tube it all the way.
Park in the short term CP at Heathrow, I doubt if you'd get in to any other car park close to a tube station at that time of day

The thing to do is the weigh up the costs and time of driving part way and getting the tube; parking at Hatton Cross in a side street and the return journeys (and then driving to Cambridge); parking in London (with congestion charge) and then driving north to Cambridge; or driving and parking at Enfield/Edgware or Burnt Oak. It all seems a bit of a muchness to me with not much difference in any choices. However, if you need to be in Cambridge earlier than the time it takes to drive from West London, I'd recommend driving through Hayes, Harrow, Kenton and Queensbury, parking at Edgware/Burnt Oak (or drive around the M25 and parking at Enfield), so that you could be in Cambridge at a reasonable time. Otherwise travel back to the west of London and then driving an extra thirty-five miles to the A10
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

I've done this a few times but to head south rather than north east out of London. Personally I'd do your drop at LHR then a straight run into town. If you want to avoid Congestion Charge then park Edgware Rd area and walk in but time might be tight - I used to park in Cavendish Square (behind/under John Lewis). Once the appt is finished you then don't have to worry about rescuing your car from LHR and hitting the M25.

think this is best option but worried about missing appointment, legal medical. cost is unimportant as 3rd party are paying, it's just a bonus I could take a fare down.

wouldnt mind any tube station with a decent sized car park, with easy transfers for harley st area.

google maps tells me 40 mins drive, it's also getting out later, which is why i prefer tube.

  • That should be OK and certainly better than Hatton Cross. I've used it and have been able to park there during the day with no trouble. I think that the charges have gone up recently so am not sure what they will be. The picadilly line is usually very frequent.
I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 2013
