Nationwide refusal

I wrote to nationwide just asking for copies of statements not asking for a refund and the replied refusing a refund and no bank statements.

    Did you send the letter from the article requesting information under the Data Protection Act? You should not be simply asking for statements.

    there's no reason not to if your bank are co operative as you often get them faster and have no problemes with systems like microsef or whatever its called. The manual intervension theory has since been blown out of the window since the money programme report anyway as they totaled up the charges to be worth a possible maximum £4.50 with manual intervension.

    You may be able to obtain a list of charges as statements quickly from your bank, but in the case the OP has not, they need to approach the bank officially.

    The Manual Intervention element has not been 'blown out of the window', the program provided the opinions of three industry figures. Nothing was 'proved'.

    The point of including Manual Intervention in your DPA request is to prevent any nasty suprises at a later stage. Many people are very nervous about the process and the more avenues that are covered off, the more confident people can feel in their claim.
