Capital one PPI

I took out my credit card in 2007 and i have got my terms and conditions from them and I had ticked the box about PPI. I had applied for my credit card online and then received the terms and conditions through the post and signed and sent back. I never really knew what PPI was until all the tv stuff.
I don't get my statements as I'm paperless and they told me they charge £3 per statement and I don't really want to pay all that. Am I in my rights to see if I can claim anything back? Any advice would be great

Hi there
If online, it was a possible opt out an not opt in, so it was probably already ticked for, where some assumed it was all part of the package.
That does mount up £3 a statement, it's far cheaper in the long run - where you should receive everything on the account if you SAR, this should include all statements, details of the account and so on, this is a one off £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
SAR letter template below if you want to use this one, good luck.
