    I think you need advice - you can't buy stuff like this and hope to get it right.

    Some of your cover is best written in trust. You can't get advice on trusts on the net. You need a professional adviser who knows how to structure protection and write it correctly.

    Some advisers work on a fee basis, others on commission from the products you pay for. You can find one which suits you in your area here;-

  • i was unsure about all the options myself and was recommended by a friend to a company called openlife who give you completely free no obligation advice and arranged my insurance for me- check out their website open-life.co.uk

    they also gave me a £50 high street vouchers for every friend i introduced, i ended up with £150 boots vouchers :rotfl:

    Just a small point - if you choose any life policies which only cover your own life, consider putting them in trust.

    In theory this helps to avoid Inheritance Tax - although you may be below the threshold but more importantly the surviving trustees can receive the proceeds without waiting for probate. That means the mortgage can be paid off much more quickly and money is available to meet the needs of the surviving members of your family.
