Am I responsible for repairs?
Comments
-
forgetting about who is responsible for a mo . . .
does the machine
a) overfill with water or
b) is the water flowing straight through and down the drain?
If b, check that the outlet hose is not pushed too far into the waste pipe
and siphoning the water out as quickly as it's filling. Easy fix, just pull the
pipe back up the drain tube.
may not be that but just trying to help . . .0 -
Offer to withhold rent to the amount the repair/replacement costs. Perhaps the owner is poor.0

The problem is electrical. On certain programmes, the machine gets 'stuck if you will' i.e it keeps just doing the same thing. Drawing in water, then spinning clothes around once or a few times. Then drawing in water, then spinning around once or twice etc..
One day i left it one when i went to work and it was still doing the same when I returned.
At no point do it hear it draining water (like can be heard on the drain setting), but it hasn't overflowed on me yet.
Oddly, some other cycles work fine, and of course rinse, spin and drain cycles all work too.0 -
I would certainly not pay to repair an appliance that doesn't belong to me.
If the landlord won't repair/replace, then I'd get yourself a new one and take it with you/sell it when you leave, leaving the landlord's dodgy one behind.0 -

In which case it might be worth checking the filter. A coin could be stuck there causing an intermittent problem.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -
