Mothercare Xc Online Order- How do i Stand

Options
I ordered a product in Mothercares sale online on 27th dec with confirmation delievrey on 1/2 January. I received an email from them last night (4th Jan)saying it was now out of stock, not charged my card end of transaction. When I went into the site last night it was still there albeit saying low stock. Called them 2day and they basically said too many people had ordered it and because of the holiday it was 1st come 1st served and I was at the end of the queue. I told them I could accept the order being cancelled the next day but not 9 days later and that there was only one bank holiday!!!. I told her it was still availble on the site last night but she said it probably wouldnt have allowed me to order - I actually dont believe this since when I placed the order it was showing low stock. Could someone tell me how I stand with this consumer wise. On the site today they dont have anymore in stock but its went bk to full price so it looks like it will come bk in stock but at the ful price?

They're giving you poor service - spend your money elsewhere.

Sooler - u r so right - I have spent a lot of money buying things from them online and wont be buying from them again. I have been thinking of buying a Phil & ted from them but they have just lost a £300 sale. What annoyed me is the girl I spoke to didnt think this was wrong (I was very nice with her maybe I shouldnt have been!). Having worked in a call centre myself u tend to make it up as u go along most of the time.

Natalie 1974 it was the Mutsy Fun Seat it was reduced from £48 to £38 - it would have fitted onto my Mutsy chassis for my baby. It was the cheapest price about but not meant to be!
