TV Licence

Options
Can I just pay half of my TV licence please? BBC1 has 9 repeats between 6am and 4.30pm and BBC2 has repeats from 6am until11.40 then its a 1943 film and then repeats from 1.15 until 6.30 Any profit making company would be out of businness by now!

I'd tell you to listen to the radio, but the songs on there are repeated ALL the time.

    :p
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

if i can't pay a third because i'm at work for 8 hours a day and then asleep for 8 hours, you can't pay half because they're repeating stuff... anyway, when a repeat is on BBC One you can watch BBC Two.
  • I like your point. Unfortunately, you pay the TV licence even if you never watch a BBC channel.

Don't pay and if they come knocking on your door, show them last year's licence and tell them it's a repeat.

Don't the commercial companies show loads and loads of repeats as well? Haven't noticed any of them going out of business as you assert.

ITV and Sky are still in business...

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I can't believe people still complain about the licence fee.

Just look at how much Sky charge if you want anything but there total crud channels. Add in a few sports/film channels and you'll pay the licence fee in just 3 or 4 months.

The BBC fee pays for TV stations, numerous radio stations and one of the best website in the world including the iPlayer which is also excellent, particular compared to ITV's terrible alternative.

The BBC is recognised and respected worldwide for its quality and very few broadcasters worldwide can even be compared.

Oh and we don't have to put up with go compare, compare the market and other extremely irritating adverts.

If you do choose to stop watching a TV and not renew the license, get ready for two years of letters advising you how naughty it is to watch television without a license.
